Kate started dance this weekend and I failed to take a picture! I also hosted her play group this week and I love all of her cute friends!
I am so over swimming by August but we all decided to swim after Kate's swim lesson. It was 111 degrees at 5:30 and we ended up having so much fun. My underwater camera makes swimming a lot more fun for me :)
Spencer surprised me with a weekend hotel stay in good old Gilbert, Arizona ALL BY MYSELF as an early birthday gift and it was heavenly!!! It's one of the last weekends in my 20s and I am really going out with a BANG! haha I can't think of a time that I have been completely alone for longer than three hours since having Jack and I was soooooo ready for it! I slept in, ate all of my favorite food, shopped, went to yoga, worked on some computer projects, binge watched Modern Family, and went on a date with Spencer on Saturday night.
As I was leaving on Friday and trying to explain to the kids where I was going and why, David's last words to me were, "Wait why are you doing this?!" and when I called the kids on Saturday Kate said, "Mom, you come home peeeese?!" haha My mom told me on Friday to have a good time on my "walkabout" and I really did! I had such a great time that I think I want to celebrate every birthday completely alone from here on out - or at least every birthday until my kids stop sucking the life out of me (or will they do that forever???! ;) Spencer did good this year in the gift department - I would have never thought to ask for this and it was just what I needed!
