We rang in the new year with all of my family in Arizona! My dad brought a few pairs of our old rollerblades for me and those rollerblades have basically been the highlight of my year! haha I have an irrational love for rollerblades and I missed them when I was living in Alabama and Iowa!
David turned four!

FEBRUARY:
We continued to enjoy Arizona winter!
We hiked!
I went to Hamilton with my mom!
My sweet mother-in-law passed away after battling ALS for a couple of years. Shel left a huge hole in our hearts and lives and we miss her so much. We love this song by the Piano Guys ft. Craig Aven, especially during this holiday season:
"You're with the Son of God! You're with the Prince of Peace! You're with the one we're celebrating, and that thought amazes me! Sometimes I still break down grieving that we're apart, but the sweetest gift is knowing where you are. You're with the Son of God!"
Spencer turned 30! We spent it sledding with his family at Soldier Hollow.
MARCH:
We went to Oceanside last minute for a quick weekend to visit James, Maddie, and Calvin!
We went whale watching!
Jack and David played t-ball together!
APRIL:
We celebrated Easter in Arizona with Spencer's dad.
My mom and Elizabeth came down for Gilbert High's Prom :)
MAY:
David finished three-year-old preschool at Eck Hollow Preschool - he loved it!
Spencer and I went to the Taylor Swift concert!
I flew to Utah with Kate for my cousin, Hannah's wedding, which also fell over Mother's Day weekend.
I think the last time all of my siblings were together with my mom over Mother's Day was when Isaac was three!
My father-in-law flew down to Arizona the same weekend I was in Utah and the boys went camping in Sedona.
Jack graduated from Kindergarten :)
JUNE:
My mom and Isaac came to Arizona to watch the kids while I went to Girls Camp.
David got his second round of stitches :(
I went to Utah with the kids (I had a really hard time narrowing down which pictures to use for this trip - I LOVE Utah summers and we did so many fun things!)
JULY:
We celebrated the 4th of July with my family in Oceanside!
Jack started 1st grade!
AUGUST:
We endured the heat and David started preschool!
SEPTEMBER:
We went to Lake Powell with Spencer's family over Labor Day weekend!
I dropped off and picked up Kate in Salt Lake with my family so that we could enjoy a baby-less vacation :)
I turned 29 and celebrated at Stateland! haha
OCTOBER:
My sweet Grandma Wirthlin passed away and we went to Utah for the funeral.
Jack started soccer and had a great season!
We did all of the Halloween things!
NOVEMBER:
We discovered two activities that have made this winter pretty awesome so far - Razor scooters all around Gilbert and a bike route that leads to this hilarious cow ;)
We celebrated Thanksgiving in Arizona with Spencer's dad.
DECEMBER:
We enjoyed a wonderful green Christmas in sunny Arizona...
... And my parents gifted us a wonderful white Christmas break in Utah!
This is obviously a post of most of our "highs" this year and not as many lows, but I love writing these years in review because it helps me remember how blessed we've been and all that God has done for us. Our days are often repetitive, demanding, and exhausting with small kids and a baby and I won't tell you how many times I daydream about escaping real life and going on vacation but I'm sure grateful for this life I've been given and the people I get to share it with :)
