November Happenings

In November:
  • David was student of the month for his class! He was so excited.

  • Kate went on a daddy/daughter hike with Spencer and her friends. (She made Spencer carry her the entire way... I guess Jack and David are what motivated her to hike on her own ;)
  • I scootered at Tempe Town Lake with friends!
  • We watched Jack and David's soccer games :)
  • We went to the zoo and Chic-fil-a on Veteran's Day
  • It rained a lot for November!
  • Jack and David ran a Turkey Trot at their school
  • We shopped and filled shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child
  • We hiked the Wave Cave! We saw a tarantula AND a yellow scorpion on our hike today and Jack and David couldn’t have been more thrilled about it! On our way back down to the car, they stopped every hiker to tell them about it, were debating on who would get to tell Spencer, and David said he wanted to call all of his cousins and tell them too 😆 Jack said, “One day, I’m going to tell my kids about this day!” 💛 Of all of the memories we’ve made together, the tarantula hiking day is the one that’s going to stick. 😂🕷🦂
  • Jack had his birthday party at KTR with school friends!
  • Jack turned 8! The day consisted of donuts, hanging out with my sister Elizabeth, Domino's pizza, KTR round two with friends that couldn't make it to his party (we got a free month membership with the party), redeeming freebies, and Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Jack had 4 rolls with honey butter and ice cream :) He reminded the waiter every time she came by that it was his birthday and by the fourth time she came he said, "Are you guys every going to sing to me?!" I sure love this confident boy of mine!!! haha

He’s kind, curious, creative and almost always happy. His firsts are also my firsts as a mom and he makes ordinary moments seem extraordinarily magical in my eyes. We love this boy soooooo much!
  • We had a happy Thanksgiving! We ate, we biked, we fed the farm animals and watched movies and online shopped. It was wonderful :)

I will not disclose how many selfies it took to "nail" this picture ;)
  • We set up the Christmas decorations and slept by the tree, one of our traditions.

And another sleeping picture just for fun :)

Photography Practice

I spent every weekend in November taking pictures of families! I loved it! I practiced on new locations on my kids before shooting families and when I had a family shoot, Spencer and the kids tagged along and played outside while I took pictures. It made our weekends fun and they went by so fast!

David lost his shoe to a cactus but he still smiled for me :)

I bribed him with Taco Bell for this dang pic and this is the best face I got! haha

Kate straight up refused to smile in these ones :)

One morning when I saw it was going to rain for three days straight, I dropped my plans and headed out with Kate to the Superstitions to scout out a couple more locations. Kate was insistent that she stay in her leggings with holes in them, that she got to hold an orange flag, and that she wasn’t going to smile, but just look at that cheese face :)
