What's Up Wednesday

What we've been eating:
What I'm reminiscing about:
June 19th, 2010 - Spencer and I have been married NINE years this month!

We celebrated this weekend and went out to dinner and then to Jesterz Improve. They had us both go up and participate in a game since it was our anniversary - we were so good at it... NOT! haha

What I'm loving:

These flyers have been everywhere in our neighborhood this week and it might as well be a treasure hunt clue to Jack! haha When he found one on our car, he read it out loud over and over again - the thought that he might run into a lost tortoise was just too exciting! haha He keeps asking if we could go to Finley Farms park to search for the tortoise but there is no way in heck I'm going on a turtle hunt in 100 degree weather! haha
I don't know if turtles are Jack's favorite animal anymore but he still loves drawing, painting and playing with his stuffed turtles. He even has a special "baby turtle" cheer with Kate :)

I took this picture of Jack this week and my turtle loving boy looks way too big!!!

What we've been up to:
This week we had lots of play dates, we swam, and we tried out the Bouncearama with our POGO passes.

I had a rare outing with just Jack and David this week while Kate was playing at a friend's house - I can't believe how big my boys are!!

What I'm dreading:
Nothing at the moment!
What I'm working on:
My FB ad side hustle - I got a new client last month - wahoo!
What I'm excited about:
Escaping the AZ heat for three whole weeks!
What I'm watching:
We just finished the first season of Designated Survivor and really liked it!
What I'm reading/listening to:
I read a bunch of books this month because a bunch of audio books that I had on hold on overdrive became available all at the same time so I had to binge listen! I listened to:
1. Girl Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis (Liked it but it didn't live up to the hype in my opinion :)
2. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Always a good one)
3. Where the Crawdads Sing (LOVED this one!)
4. The Tattooist of Auschwitz (REEEALLLY LOVED this one!)
What I'm doing this weekend:
Seaworld and the beach!!
What I'm looking forward to next month:
California and Utah!

Life lately

Jack and David had their first swim meet last week. They did great and I'm just so glad they are having fun :)

Kate is the best little cheer leader :)
Two Saturdays ago, we floated the Salt River with friends. We had so much fun!
Jack, David and Kate have been having a lot of play dates this summer, and when they aren't playing with friends, they are playing together and I love it :)

I went out to check on the boys at the park the other day (mostly to make sure they weren't going to overheat!) and found they had tied their snakes around all of the trees at the park for some game they were playing :)

Last Monday, Kate locked herself in her room after her nap. Turns out we had the dumbest door knob ever and it took almost an hour to get her out after calling 911 and having half of the neighborhood over to help! The boys and their friends suggested that the police office use his gun to get the door open! (haha!) but ultimately Emmett's dad saved the day and got her out by drilling and hammering the doorknob out! I found Kate whimpering in the closet (the drilling and hammering scared her) but I don't think we traumatized her too bad because she's went straight to Ellie's house afterwards and had a great time :)

I definitely won the mother-of-the-year award the next morning when David locked himself in Kate's room too! Without the handle, we couldn't get the door open once it was shut tight! Thankfully, I was able to explain to him how to unlock the window and got him out and maintenance came later that day to get us a new door handle!
This Saturday, we took the kids with us back to the Salt River and we all had so much fun! Jack excitedly exclaimed while floating in his tube, "Nature has THE BEST animals!!!" (We saw minnows, a lizard, a red bird, and bugs ;) I'm glad we found another activity that we all like to do in 100 degree weather!
Marshmallow throwing is a thing on the Salt River (I had no idea!) and the kids loved collecting floating marshmallows and throwing them at the strangers we floated past! haha
Father's Day questionnaires for Spencer :)
Some sleeping shots of Kate :)
This is the way Jack and David make their bed (the very few times they actually make their bed ;)
Jack and David have slept with Pooh and Groot every single night since going to Disneyland. They are quite the combo ;)
