What's Up Wednesday

What we've been eating:
All of our favorite food in Oceanside and Utah this month! I have a crazy obsession with Taco Time and got a lot of it this month ;) It is nasty good. Their crisp burritos and crisp tacos are my fav.

What I'm reminiscing about:
I did the opposite of reminisce this month with the FaceApp! It was too funny!

Not a bad look for Spencer ;)

What I'm loving:
Kate's very intense princess obsession! She likes to match her princess dolls to the princess picture on her makeup kit/thingy.

And she wears her Anna or Mermaid dress every day. Her newest addition to her wardrobe are her clip on earrings that my mom bought her in Utah. She wears them for hours at a time! I don't understand!!!

What we've been up to:
Jack and David started school last week! We were all ready for it!

"Your first steps. Your first day at school. Your first heartbreak. When I first drop you off at college. Your firsts become my firsts. And I'll not only be there for every single one, I'll love you right on through them." -Vicki Reece
We celebrated the first day of school with Bahama Bucks!

What I'm dreading:
The fact that August isn't over yet! I keep forgetting it hasn't even started yet! 110 degrees every day is torture!
What I'm working on:
Getting back into the swing of things after being out of town for almost a month!
What I'm excited about:
I'm excited for Kate to start dance and her weekly rotating playdate (we take a turn hosting then get four weeks off!)

What I'm watching:
Stranger Things Season 3!!!
What I'm reading/listening to:
I read/listened to three books this week and LOVED two and thought one was just alright.
1. Educated by Tara Westover BLEW MY MIND. I couldn't stop thinking about/researching/ and talking about this book after I read it!
2. Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom was a quick, uplifting, sad but inspiring read that I loved so much!
3. How to Walk Away was a New York Times Bestseller and has great reviews but for some reason, I just wasn't crazy about it.
What I'm doing this weekend:
Going to a Dbacks game!
What I'm looking forward to next month:
The monsoons! Fullsizeoutput e86f

Utah Week 2

Things we did the second week of Utah:
  • I hiked Bells Canyon with Hannah. The pictures don't do the waterfall justice - it was HUGE!

  • I went to Bear Lake and Logan to meet up with my life long friend, Rachel, and her kids! First stop, a raspberry shake! It was sooooo good!

Our kids hit it off right away and had so much fun!

After a day at the beach, we drove to Logan. I drove by my Grandma Libbie's house, and our first house, on the way to our Airbnb.

After we cleaned up and gave our kids baths, we went to Merlin Olsen Park where they bathed again in the little stream ;)

I love the view of the temple from Merlin Olsen park!

We stayed until dark and way past the kid's bedtimes. When we saw the "A" on Old Main Hill, I noticed it was lit blue instead of white! It was TRUE AGGIE NIGHT! What were the chances?! (Actually the chances were 1/29.5 since True Aggie Night happens only when it's a full moon! ;) We decided to postpone bedtime and make those kiddos TRUE AGGIES!!! Our boys bragged to each other on the way to Old Main about how their moms were going to kiss them and make them True Aggies and they chanted ,"True Aggies! True Aggies!" the entire walk there!!!! So now, 5/5 Halls are True Aggies! When my kids are freshman at Utah State, I know that they will be thrilled to tell their friends that their mom/brother made them a True Aggie ;)

They were all so proud and wanted individual pictures on the "A"! haha

The next day, we had Old Grist Mill for breakfast, ate at Fredrikos for lunch, went to Zootah at Willow Park, and had Aggie Ice Cream before heading back to Holladay.

We had so much fun showing our kids our old stomping grounds. Today (over a week after going to Logan) David asked me if he could play with his "True Aggie" friends again!!! I wish we could live next to the Makas!!!

On the way towards Logan Canyon, Jack and Kate fell asleep and I decided to take a detour to the Wellsville Cemetary to show David Maughan who he is named after. I wasn't sure where exactly the cemetary was or were Libbie and LeMoine were burried but I would like to think that Libbie guided me because I drove straight there :)

  • We went to This Is the Place Heritage Park with my mom!

The donuts here were to DIE FOR!

  • We went to my Grandma and Grandpa's house and my Grandma threw us a whole party with activities and scarf dancing :)

  • We went to Cherry Hill to celebrate my nieces birthday!

Kate couldn't hang ;)

  • We went boating!

Kate's first time on a boat!

Then, she crashed in the funniest position :)

Love her

Other things that happened in Utah:
Kate got many makeovers by Elizabeth:

and cute and crazy hair dos by Elizabeth ;)

Isaac helped Jack and David with their new toys my parents bought them.

And we played musical beds for two weeks straight ;)

And I had so much Taco Time!!!! My favorite!!! haha

We love Utah and all of our family there and I'm so grateful that we could crash at my parent's house for two full weeks!
