New Years is my least favorite holiday of the year. It's so anticlimactic, especially after living in China during the Chinese New Year. Also, because it follows Christmas. And because you stay up until midnight just to shout "Happy New Year!" and kiss, when you can easily just do that in the morning. Midnight is very painful and not necessary. We are sleep deprived over here, people!
And maybe just a little boring. Your call.
This New Year's Eve, the three of us went to Olive Garden, wrote graduate school essays, took poor quality photos on the computer, had a short lived dance party, and watched
A Midnight in Paris. We were in bed by 10:30 and it was wonderful.
Happy 2012! Maybe next year we'll make it 'til midnight!
By the way, is it New Years or New Year's? Do you bring in the new year or ring in the new year?
Hahaha! You guys sound like Tyler and I. The past two years we've thought, "Should we go out?" We end up staying at home and setting an alarm so we can wish each other a Happy New Year at midnight.
ReplyDeleteAnd graduate school essays? Blech. Not very fun to write. Have fun with those.
Haha! I can tell that in the second picture Jack thinks you guys are crazy... oh how right he is!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, Jack looks like he is reconsidering choosing you guys as his family. Hahaha jk, you guys are adorable! And maybe a little bit boring, but such is married life.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't stay up til midnight the year Sky was born either. Expect more excitement next year ;)
ReplyDeleteI am in love with your baby, he is just too cute!!
ReplyDeleteThree words: London New Year. My sister in Georgia started celebrating this way a couple years ago. The party starts at five and is over by eight. It's the best ever! -- Annika
