Disneyland Part 2

Disneyland Part 1 ----------> here
We took a "rest day" after two days of Disney and had plans to go to the beach. It rained that morning, but it looked like it was going to clear up in the afternoon so we headed to the beach around 11 anyway. When we got there, it was still pouring rain, so we all went out to lunch instead. After lunch, everyone left Huntington Beach to go back to the hotel for naps, but Jack and David cried and begged to go play at the beach. At that point, it was just sprinkling but still very cold, but we decided to take them down to the beach for a bit anyway. The rain and cold did not stop them! They loved the beach!

At one point, David fell in the waves and we were expecting tears, but he just laughed and kept going!

We only stayed an hour because we were afraid that they were going to get sick. We headed back to the hotel to dry off before hitting Downtown Disney for dinner and to see Santa.
Santa and a giant gingerbread house at the Grand California Hotel:

After yummy Earl of Sandwich and Sprinkles cupcakes, David insisted that we stop at the Lego Store for a picture with the Lego Hulk on the way back to our hotel :)

They were so worn out every day :)

------------------------------------------
On our last day at Disney, we decided to use our extra magic hour which got us in the parks at 7 am to hit some of the Fantasyland rides we missed the first day. We grabbed an Uber at about 6:20 and were first in line at the gate! I was genuinely excited but I think Spencer was just humoring me with his excited face ;) He's been so good to put up with my non-stop talking about Disney this year :)

We walked right on to Peter Pan, one of Jack and David's favorites. (By the end of the trip, Jack decided that we should name our baby Peter Pan Hall and David wanted to name our baby Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates or Izzy from the same show if it's a girl ;)

After a couple of rides, the rain (that we were not prepared for!) started. None of our weather apps said it was going to rain, so we had to give all of our money (or at least it felt like that!) to Disney for their dang ponchos! Six years ago, Spencer and I went with my family to Disneyland and it rained for two days straight and we LOVED IT because we were prepared with rain gear and because it scared all of the crowds away and we walked on to every ride. Now with little kids, I know why the crowds get scared away! It's tricky doing rain with little kids! Jack and David were troupers though! Rain didn't stop them! (for a while at least ;)

After a couple of hours, we met up with everyone in Toon Town to meet Mickey!

My niece seriously kissed every character. It was adorable!

Goofy surprised us at Mickey's exit (I think he was hiding from the rain!)

Full disclosure: when you are at Disneyland with 22 people, you stand around making touring decisions and waiting for people to go to the bathroom quite a bit ;)

After Toon Town, the tall non-pregnant people went on Indiana Jones while the little kids rode Jungle Cruise :)

After Jungle Cruise, our kids started getting cold and whiny so we headed back to the hotel to dry off and to take naps before heading out again... except David ruined everything and fell asleep before we got to the hotel! How he fell asleep in the pouring rain is beyond me...

Jack napped, and Spencer and I tried to nap except David wouldn't stop bugging us! He couldn't fall asleep since he had his power nap in the rain. After a couple of hours, the rain let up a bit and we headed back to California Adventure! I got my favorite Disney food for dinner (the bread bowl with clam chowder) and we rode Radiator Springs Racers and Soarin' again.

And then while everyone went on Tower of Terror or Radiator Springs Racers again, I waited in line with David to see the dang super heroes again :) Jack made it back from Radiator Springs just in time to see the super heroes again too. I love these first two pictures of David. He was asking Captain America were Hulk was, and where Thor was, and where Batman, and Ironman, and Superman and all of the bad guys were. He seriously had a LIST and Captain America answered all of his questions, plus he was super impressed with Jack and David's new shields :)

They made Mickey Mouse with their shields :) By the end of our trip, Captain America won David over. Hulk used to be David's favorite super hero but now it is Captain America!

Spider-man asked if he could try picking up Thor's hammer (that David picked out with his money that Tinkerbell left him on the last day)

We went to Turtle Talk with Crush next. It's a cute little interactive show where you talk to Crush on a screen and ask him questions and he will interact with the audience. They had it at Disneyworld and Jack LOVED it. Jack had been wanting to ask Crush who Squirt's mom was since the last time we did Turtle Talk with Crush at Disneyworld when they didn't pick on him. This time, he got picked and asked his question! (FYI Shelly is Squirt's mom :) After the show was over, David threw a huge fit and cried and cried because he wanted to ask Crush a question like Jack got to. Disney must reward bad behavior, because as I was trying to get David to calm down and leave the theater, they shut the doors and brought Crush back out for some one-on-one time with just David. (I was sooooo sad that Spencer and Jack missed it because they had already left the theater!) Crush was so cute and asked David a lot of questions and then David got to ask Crush a few questions. Now that is Disney magic! Disney really does go above and beyond!!!
David really had a list of things he wanted to do at California Adventure that day! He controlled the rest of the night :) He insisted that we go on Monster's Inc again and not only that, but that we ride it twice in a row so that he could take me once and Spencer once :)

We headed to A Bug's Life show after Monsters, but three minutes in, David had to go to the bathroom and once you leave the theater, you can't go back in. He was soooo sad that he missed it and asked to do it again. So we split up with everyone and watched it again. We rode the Mater ride again, then Jack and David wanted to ride Mater again.

David fell asleep in line the second time around so after the second ride, we called it a night and headed back to the hotel. Not without stopping to spend Jack's Tinkerbell money on the toy he had been eying since the day before - a cozy turtle and it's baby from the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney ;) Typical Jack :)

We had such a great time at Disneyland and were so grateful to be able to spend time with and make memories with Spencer's family at the most Magical Place on Earth!
