It's a good week...
- when my stress level has been low enough not to feel the need for blog therapy until Friday.
- when Spencer finished his first semester of graduate school!
- when cheesecake is half-off at The Cheesecake Factory! (Vanilla Bean Cheesecake with raspberry sauce on the side is and always will be the way to go.)
- when we played "guess the ridiculous price" at Anthropology.
- when we got 4 t-shirts, a pair of jeans, and two pairs of shorts for Spencer at JC Penney for $54.
- when we checked off a million things off of our "to do" list.
- when the weather was kind of cool enough to go running/walking outside and when there were thunderstorms similar to Arizona's.
- When we tried the fried green tomatoes at the restaurant based off of the book and movie Fried Green Tomatoes. We kind of splurged and also tried the fried catfish, the fried shrimp, the dressing and gravy, the rolls, the coconut cream pie, and the banana pudding as well. Oops.
(I promise it tasted a lot better than it looked)
Our great week almost distracted us from the fact that we are totally missing the Olympics right now because we don't get basic cable. :( We may just have to pretend shop at Best Buy this weekend to catch a few events.
I was totally lamenting missing the Olympics too... Then my sis in law gave us her old rabbit ears and we got to watch some last night! Have fun ay best buy! :)
ReplyDeleteyou can watch them online at the nbc website. when it asks who your cable provider is... go to cox and then there is a free 4 hr olympics on there based on your email address. ;) we have been switching through our email addresses! : )
ReplyDeleteBBC has free online coverage - though I'm not sure if it's only in England or not... And you do see more of the British athletes than the Americans.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are experiencing more of the Alabama culture! The restaurant sounds awesome. Sorry you can't get the Olympics. That's pretty much my day as of late...breastfeed and watch Olympics while I do it :)
ReplyDeleteCan i just say how much i love that movie? And that I'm jealous you went to the restaurant! Also, I'm so glad things are looking up for you guys! You had a heck of a summer so far. And I am basically crying every night (not really...okay maybe) because I don't have cable either. And I'm never home to watch the live feed. Good thing my mom has recorded a lot of the Olympics for me to watch!
